The WSCA is a professional organization representing over 1,000 Washington state school counselors, school counselor educators, and graduate students.

According to the WSCA website, the purpose of the award is to recognize a supervisor or director whose leadership and outstanding services have had a positive impact on the guidance and counseling field for counselors on a local or state level.

In presenting the honor, the WSCA Professional Recognition Committee shared this about Kaiser:

Nicole's dedication, teamwork, and exceptional communication skills have allowed her to effectively translate policies and help implement them for the benefit of school counselors. She has improved many aspects of her district’s counseling programs through mentorship of new counselors, designing effective strategies for post-graduation pathways, fostering learning communities and continued advocacy. Her leadership has greatly enhanced her district’s ability to provide exceptional support to students.

"This recognition is a testament to the dedication and commitment of our entire team of school counselors," said Kaiser. "Together, we have worked to develop and strengthen our comprehensive school counseling program, ensuring that we provide unwavering support to our students in every facet of their lives. This award is not just a reflection of my efforts, but of the collective passion and determination of our district's school counselors. We remain committed to empowering and guiding our students academically, socially, and emotionally, as well as supporting their career and college development."
